Karli Boland, Northern Kentucky University Karli is a fellow in the Future Leaders Internship Program at Northern Kentucky University. She is interning in the office of Senator Wil Schroder during the 2022 Kentucky General Assembly. Karli is majoring in law with a particular interest in juvenile defense.
Madison Brown, The Ohio State University Madison is a sophomore at The Ohio State University. Her major is Public Management, Leadership, and Policy at the John Glenn College of Public Affairs. She has a double minor in Dance and Women and Gender in Public Policy. At OSU, Madison is very involved in her Asian-interest Sorority, Kappa Phi Lambda, and serves as a Senator in the Undergraduate Student Government’s 55th General Assembly. She will be interning in the Office of Administration at Hamilton County. During this time at the County, Madison will be splitting her time working in Communications and helping to audit hotel/motel taxes. She is thankful for this amazing opportunity and excited to learn what it is like to be a public servant.
Emily Burns, Arizona State University After graduating from the University of Dayton with a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering, Emily was accepted into the Master of Urban and Environmental Planning program at Arizona State University. She just finished her first year in the program, with her primary interests being sustainable urban development, green infrastructure, and equitable housing policy. During her first year, she was a Graduate TA for Intro to Urban Planning, Planning Methods, and Sustainable Cities. This summer, Emily will be working with the City of Cincinnati’s Department of City Planning & Engagement on developing educational housing policy materials and working on various stages of neighborhood plans. Emily is excited to work in a city she grew up visiting and contribute to the public planning process in Cincinnati.
Tori Byndon, Northern Kentucky University Tori is a fellow in the Future Leaders Internship Program at Northern Kentucky University. She is interning in the office of Representative Mark Hart during the 2022 Kentucky General Assembly. Tori is majoring in law with an interest in attending law school.
Jamie Collins, Northern Kentucky University Jamie is a fellow in the Future Leaders Internship Program at Northern Kentucky University. She is interning in the office of Rep. Wheatley during the 2022 Kentucky General Assembly. Jamie is the first Library Informatics student to participate in the program.
Orla Fitzsimmons, Northern Kentucky University Orla is a fellow in the Future Leaders Internship Program at Northern Kentucky University. She is serving as an intern in the office of Representative Adam Koenig during the 2022 General Assembly. She is double majoring in History and Sociology with a minor in Public Service.
Jackson House, Miami University Jackson is an upcoming sophomore at the Farmer School of Business in Oxford. He is double-majoring in finance as well information systems and analytics. Additionally, he is minoring in history. He is interning for Hamilton County (OH) with the Board of County Commissioners as well as with Jobs and Family Services. Jackson looks forward to the professional experience he will earn in the next few months as well as the impact he can have through his work with the county.
Tyra Jones, Miami University Tyra is a rising senior in the Farmer School of Business in Oxford, Ohio. She is currently majoring in Marketing. She is interning at Hamilton County (OH) with the Board of Commissioners in the Office of Administration along with Jobs and Family Services . Tyra is excited about her role with Hamilton county as her interest in public administration increases throughout this summer experience.
Abby Livingood, Northern Kentucky University Abby is a fellow in the Future Leadership Intern Program at Northern Kentucky University. She is interning in the office of Communications, as well as, helping when needed in the office of Representative Kim Banta during the 2022 Kentucky General Assembly. Abby is majoring in Criminal Justice with an interest in furthering her educational career in law.
Madison Persinger, University of Cincinnati College of Law Madison obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Affairs and Spanish from Marshall University. She is currently a rising third year law student at the University of Cincinnati College of Law. Her primary interests are civil rights law, human rights law, and immigration law. She is a member of the University of Cincinnati College of Law Moot Court Team, secretary of the Bearcats for Immigration and Policy, and serves as an articles editor of the Human Rights Quarterly Journal. Madison will be working this summer with the City of Cincinnati Law Department and will conduct legal research, draft memorandums, draft court pleadings, and draft real estate documents with a focus on the Greater Cincinnati Water Works.
Daniel Polasky, Ohio State University Daniel is a rising senior at Ohio State University. His major is Public Management, Leadership, and Policy with a minor in Political Science. Daniel is an Eagle Scout, a member of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity, and active in Ohio State’s Hillel and Chabad. He will be working with the Office of Budget and Evaluation in the City of Cincinnati. Daniel will assist the department in developing and getting a budget approved for FY 2023. He is looking forward to learning more about the department and contributing to its work.
Marcus Rocas, Northern Kentucky University Marcus is a fellow in the Future Leaders Internship Program at Northern Kentucky University. He is interning in the office of Senator John Schickel during the 2022 Kentucky General Assembly. Marcus is double majoring in Business Management and Human Resources.
Kirstin Spellman, Northern Kentucky University Kirstin is a fellow in the Future Leaders Internship Program at Northern Kentucky University. She interns in the office of Representative Ed Massey during the 2022 Kentucky General Assembly. Kirstin is in the 3+3 law program offered at NKU and is currently working towards a BA in Law.
Zach Suman, Northern Kentucky University Zach is a fellow in the Future Leaders Internship Program at Northern Kentucky University. He is an intern for Majority Floor Leader Damon Thayer during the 2022 Kentucky General Assembly. Zach is a senior majoring in business management with a particular interest in business law. He will be attending Salmon P. Chase College of Law this fall.
Elizabeth Valladares-Valles, Northern Kentucky University Elizabeth is a fellow in the Future Leaders Internship Program at Northern Kentucky University. She is interning in the office of Representative Rachel Roberts during the 2022 Kentucky General Assembly. Elizabeth is majoring in political science.
Caroline Wormald, Northern Kentucky University Caroline is a fellow in the Future Leaders Internship Program at Northern Kentucky University. She is interning in the office of Representative Kim Moser during the 2022 Kentucky General Assembly. Caroline is majoring in Psychological Science with minors in Human Services & Addictions, Honors, and a Pre-Law focus. She is a native of Fort Thomas and a member of the Campbell County Family, Accountability, Intervention, and Response (FAIR) team advocating for enhanced case management plans, and service referrals for juveniles prior to referral to court.
